"Clifftop Sentinel" by Trish Frederick is a captivating piece that draws the viewer into a vibrant seaside world. The composition centers around a towering lighthouse, perched majestically on a grassy cliff. Below, waves crash with dramatic force against the rugged rocky edge, creating a sense of motion and energy. Nearby a small house nestles comfortably amidst a verdant backdrop of lush green trees, completing the picturesque scene.
The sky above is alive with a mesmerizing swirl of colorful clouds, painted in shades of purple, pink, and blue. This bold use of color transforms the sky into an ethereal display, infusing the scene with a dynamic and atmospheric touch. The overall palette of the painting is vibrant and bold, harmonizing bright colors to convey both the liveliness and serenity of this enchanting coastal landscape.
Skies are my favorite thing to paint and often my paintings start there. I may have composed the painting or not, but they always start with the sky. My style is different in that I use makeup brushes. I will choose my colors and randomly put them on the canvas. Then just take my brushes and start swirling and moving the paint all around. It makes for uniques skies that others have termed. “Patricia Sky” as they are very recognizable as my artwork.
