From the houses in the distance to the shallow muddy waters, “The Marsh” by Trish Frederick captures a calm riverside scene. The composition features a gentle river with small rowboats moored near a rustic wooden dock, serving as a focal point that draws the viewer into the peaceful setting. Tall reeds and grasses line the riverbank, creating a lush, natural environment teeming with subtle details. In the foreground, a few ducks swim gracefully near the water's edge, adding a touch of lively charm to the tranquil scene.
My painting was inspired by one of my favorite artists, a Danish painter Peder Mork Monsted (1859-1941) "Pond at Zehna, Germany." I find his work inspires my own creativity. Although I tried to copy his work closely, my color palette is dark, and obviously not as details. But that is how we learn, right?
